Cameron Peter Daddo (born 7 March ) is an Australian actor, musician and presenter. From to , he hosted dating game show Perfect Match Australia. He won two Logie Awards for his performances in Golden Fiddles and Tracks of Glory.

Early life

Daddo was born in Melbourne, Victoria, on 7 March , the eldest son of Peter and Bronwen Daddo. His father was a jewellery designer.

Daddo's first television role was as host of a children's show called Off the Dish. He soon hosted The Cameron Daddo Cartoon Show.[1] Daddo replaced Greg Evans as the host of dating game show Perfect Match Australia from to He was 21 years old, which made him the youngest host of an Australian game show.[1] Daddo appeared in the telemovie series Bony (), playing a detective and fictional grandson of Napoleon Bonaparte, the protagonist in 29 detective novels by Arthur Upfield.

His character was said to be a white raised by Aboriginal people. An Aboriginal uncle serves as his mentor.[1]

In he won the Logie Award for Most Popular Actor in a Telemovie or Miniseries, for his appearance in the miniseries Golden Fiddles[2] He won again in for Tracks of Glory.[3] He also appeared in the SBS documentary Filthy Rich and Homeless.[4] Daddo moved to Los Angeles in to pursue his acting career in Hollywood.

He was cast in a role as a photographer in the Melrose Place spin-off Models Inc., which was cancelled after one season.[5] He made a one-off appearance in a episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

In , he played Rollie Tyler in F/X: The Series.[5] He also appeared in the PAX TV network's Hope Island from to [5] In , he appeared in Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story as Jack Garrison, an American writer who had an important role during World War I.

In he played as main guest character Darryl Wright in the episode 'Monk and the Earthquake' from Season One of the Monk television series.

Daddo was cast in the role of Captain Georg Von Trapp in the Australian Tour of the London Palladium production of The Sound of Music opposite Amy Lehpamer in the role of Maria. From May to June , Daddo appeared in Home and Away as Evan Slater, the estranged father of Ryder Jackson (Lukas Radovich).[6] In , Daddo co-hosted the fifth season of travel series Luxury Escapes with Sophie Falkiner.[7]

Radio career

In October , Daddo joined smoothfm as Sunday Mornings host (8am - 10am).[8]

In March , Daddo became the host of Mellow Music which airs nightly (8pm - midnight) on smoothfm.[9]

Personal life

Daddo is the eldest of five siblings.

His brothers Andrew Daddo and Lochie Daddo are also actors.[1] Daddo met model Alison Brahe in and they married the following year. They have three children.[10]
